Edward Elric is the protagonist of Fullmetal Alchemist. Known as the Fullmetal Alchemist, he is a young State Alchemist who lost his left leg in a failed attempt to resurrect his mother using alchemy, and later sacrificed his right arm to bind his brother Alphonse's soul to a suit of armor. He uses automail prosthetics and is notably short-tempered about his height.
